Jim Jones
Former Chair
Jim is a nurse prescriber for St Martins Healthcare Services, part of the Leeds PCT drug treatment service.
He was a Senior Lecturer in the School of Human and Health Sciences at the University of Huddersfield, teaching on a range of Nursing and other Health Professional Courses, with a special remit in Substance Misuse. He retired in 2009.
Jim trained as a general nurse in Liverpool in the 1970's then moved to London and trained as an RMN at the Maudsley, working in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry after qualifying. After a few years he moved to Cambridge and started teaching mental health nurses. Jim moved again to Yorkshire in 1988 and developed his special interest in Substance Misuse issues since then.
- Tutor to Royal College of General Practitioners Certificate in Substance Misuse; 2003 to present.
- Association of Nurses in Substance Abuse (ANSA) - Member of National Executive Committee. 2005 to present, and is a former Chair of ANSA.
